Dryer Repair

Dryers can easily cause fires if not serviced and repaired regularly, leading to costly remodeling and worse, fatalities. While some dryer issues are easy repairs for a professional, others can serve as a sign for potentially dangerous fires if left unserviced. Read on to learn about some common dryer problems and their causes, all of which we can fix:

My Dryer Won't Turn On

If your dryer isn't turning on or doesn't have power, first double check to be sure it's still plugged in. If that's not it, check your fuse panel to see if any circuits have been tripped. Other causes could be a broken thermostat, terminal block, or start switch, all of which will need to be repaired or replaced.

Dryer Isn't Producing Heat

If your dryer turns on and spins the drum but does not seem to be getting hot inside or drying clothes, it could due to lint clogging in the vent system, or faulty parts inside the dryer, all of which will need to be professionally serviced.

Drum Isn't Spinning

If you can hear the motor in your dryer running but the drum isn't spinning, it could be a loose or broken belt, which can be easily inspected and diagnosed. If that is not the cause, it's likely a bad roller, motor, or idler pulley

Dryer's Getting Too Hot

If you notice that your dryer or the surrounding area is getting hotter than usual, the problem should be addressed immediately. This has the potential to turn into a dangerous situation quickly as it could be due to a severe clog in the ventilation duct of the dryer. If you've recently had your dryer's vent professionally cleaned, it's more likely to be a broken thermostat or heating coil.
